The average parent takes hundreds of photos per month. Most live in an unsorted camera roll, never to be found again. Here’s how to fix that.
The Folder System
- Create a yearly folder: “2026 Family Photos.”
- Within each year, create monthly folders: “01 January,” “02 February,” etc.
- For events, create subfolders: “03 March – First Birthday Party.”
The Monthly Routine
- At the end of each month, move photos from phone to folders.
- Delete duplicates, blurry shots, and accidental screenshots.
- Star or favourite the best 10 photos of the month.
- Back up to cloud storage (Google Photos, iCloud, or Dropbox).
The Annual Print
Once a year, take your best 50–100 photos and create a printed photo book. Digital photos are fragile — phones break, services close, files corrupt. A printed book survives all of this.
