Autumn is the perfect season for combining nature with art. Handprint leaves, pressed flowers, and conker collections all make beautiful seasonal keepsakes.
Handprint Autumn Tree
- Paint a brown tree trunk on paper (arm and handprint work perfectly as trunk and branches).
- Use orange, red, yellow, and brown paint for leaf handprints around the branches.
- Add a few “fallen leaves” below the tree with fingerprint dots.
- Write the child’s name, age, and “Autumn [year].”
Leaf Pressing
- Collect beautiful autumn leaves on a walk.
- Press between pages of a heavy book for two weeks.
- Arrange on card and seal with clear contact paper or laminate.
- Label with the date and the child’s age.
Conker Collection
Every child collects conkers in autumn. Save a couple each year in a labelled jar. Over the years, the collection grows into a quirky seasonal record.
