The average parent takes hundreds of photos per month. Most live in an unsorted camera roll, never to be found again. Here’s how to fix that.

The Folder System

  • Create a yearly folder: “2026 Family Photos.”
  • Within each year, create monthly folders: “01 January,” “02 February,” etc.
  • For events, create subfolders: “03 March – First Birthday Party.”

The Monthly Routine

  1. At the end of each month, move photos from phone to folders.
  2. Delete duplicates, blurry shots, and accidental screenshots.
  3. Star or favourite the best 10 photos of the month.
  4. Back up to cloud storage (Google Photos, iCloud, or Dropbox).

The Annual Print

Once a year, take your best 50–100 photos and create a printed photo book. Digital photos are fragile — phones break, services close, files corrupt. A printed book survives all of this.
