Puppies grow terrifyingly fast. That tiny bundle of fluff is a full-sized dog within months. Document the first year before it vanishes.
Milestones to Record
- Homecoming day: First photo in your house. First nap. First meal from their new bowl.
- First walk: After vaccinations are complete. The excitement (or terror) of the outside world.
- First bath: The betrayed expression. The wet-dog zoomies after.
- Training milestones: First sit, first recall, first night without crying.
- Size progression: Monthly weigh-ins and photos. The growth rate is astonishing.
Keepsakes
- First collar: Save the tiny puppy collar. Compare it to their adult collar later.
- Paw print progression: Monthly paw prints showing growth.
- Puppy teeth: They lose their baby teeth at 4–6 months. If you find one, save it.
Monthly Photo Tradition
Same position, same toy for scale. By month 12, the difference between the tiny puppy and the grown dog next to the same toy is incredible.
